Attorney Jay A. Scherline founded the Law Offices of Scherline and Associates in 1976 and had concentrated his practice on representing injured victims throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York for over thirty years. Unfortunately, Jay Scherline passed away on December 31st, 2012, but his memory lives on, and the attorneys at Scherline & Associates remain committed to giving their clients the best legal representation possible.

Prior to his passing, Atty. Scherline was admitted to the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York Courts, and before the United States Supreme Court.

After graduating with a degree in business, Atty. Scherline received his law degree from Vermont Law School where he served on the Student Judiciary. A former member of the Lehigh County (Past President), Northampton County, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and American Bar Associations, Atty. Scherline was also a State and Federal Court-Appointed Arbitrator and Mediator and was admitted to the Federal Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition, Atty. Scherline was a member of the American Association for Justice (formerly known as ATLA), the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and New Jersey Association for Justice. Attorney Scherline was also a member of the Motorcycle Injury Trial Lawyer Association.

Atty. Scherline was an experienced trial lawyer who had effectively represented thousands of serious personal injury matters. He had been named in Newsweek Magazine as one of the Top Trial Lawyers in the country, Lehigh Valley Magazine’s Best Personal Injury Lawyer, and one of Pennsylvania’s Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers Association. In addition, Atty. Scherline was named Best Attorney by the Morning Call Reader’s Choice (2009), and Lehigh Valley Lawyer’s Who’s Who. He was also a Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Established in 1993, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum (which includes the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum) is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. There are over 4000 members throughout the country. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.

A true humanitarian, Attorney Scherline was involved in many organizations:

In addition to his philanthropic work, Atty. Scherline had written multiple articles on topics such as community service:

He had also lectured at numerous local crime watch groups on topics such as automobile insurance law, identity theft and techniques of negotiation.
