Attorney R. Michael Edridge

Attorney R. Michael Edridge practices in multiple areas of law including personal injury, commercial litigation, social security, landlord/tenant, and criminal defense.  Prior to joining Scherline & Associates, Atty. Edridge was an Associate Attorney at the Law Offices of the late Martin H. Philip.  Practicing law since 1983, Atty. Edridge is admitted to the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  He received his undergraduate degree from Parsons College in Fairfield, IA and went on to obtain his law degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Akin to his legal career, Atty. Edridge has a special interest in politics and law and society.  With his dual nationality in the United States and United Kingdom, Atty. Edridge has served in the United States Marine Corps as well as the British Army.  When he isn’t in the office, Atty. Edridge enjoys reading, fine dining, listening to music, and traveling.  Having been there about seven times, his favorite place to travel is Edinburgh, Scotland.  Atty. Edridge is also a frequent blood donor and has participated in charity walks and highway cleanup programs to help improve the environment.

Atty. Edridge wrote the brief for the landmark case of Drumheller vs. Marcello 532 A.2d 807 (Pa. 1987) which was heard in the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and which decided that, under the Slayer’s Act, after a husband killed his wife and then killed himself, the divorce and equitable distribution proceedings of the couple must continue so that the husband would not benefit from the slaying in any way.
